WALTER PALMER OF STONINGTON
CONNECTICUT
Letters were sent out by Dr. Byron S. Palmer to all the Palmer names he could find requesting family data. The letter contained an eloquent request, enumerating the benefits to future generations if the questionnaire was filled out. ln the year l923, his results were published, and we are grateful for his untiring efforts. The genealogical record "Palmer's in America" no doubt had its origin through the family reunion of Palmer's at Stonington Connecticut in 1881. "Palmer Group 5" was published in 1901 and covered only the Walter Palmer's of Stonington. They were the prime promoters of the 1881 reunion, being promote leaders and citizens of Stonington, New London, Norwich and that section of Connecticut, all descendants of Walter. The genealogy of this family was started some time previous by Noyes F. Palmer of Jamaica, N. Y., he being the original genealogist of this family. Other Genealogical. Records: Thomas Palmer family from Rowley, Mass in 1638 BY Josiah Palmer of Brooklyn, N.Y. published by Frank Palmer of Norwich, Conn. History of Hampton, N. H. contains record of William Lincoln Palmer of Boston, Mass. And so the search goes on and on reaching for more names, more accuracy. And as we continue, we find the names becoming more and more a part of us, OUR FAMILY.
